He hasauthed coauthed over 80 academic articles dealing with the problems ofstructural mechanics bridge engineering especially f the steelstructures steelconcrete composite structures. He is a member of severalengineering committees like E JSCE IABSE IABMAS IALCCE etc. He isthe recipient of IABMAS YOUNG PRIZE of 2014.摘 要This talk will focus on a method of preventativestrengthening f aged shtspan railway bridges in Japan. It will begin witha look at the current situation some typical damage examples to oldJapanese bridge structures. A strengthening method using rubber latex mtarGFRP plates lightweight rapid hardening concrete reinfcing bars willthen be introduced. This method has been tested on two railway bridges one inservice f nearly a hundred years the second f eightysix using staticloading impact tests. Stress variation on the railway bridges under runningtrains has also measured the effectiveness of the strengthening methodunder real service conditions tested. Numerical simulations have been made ofboth labaty field tests.
